    Sunset Beach
    Sunset Beach is located on Oahu's North Shore. During the winter months this beach's massive surf attracts professional surfers from around the world. They compete for international recognition in the Duke Kahanamoku Classic, the O'Neill World Cup of Surfing, and the Triple Crown of Surfing. In contrast, during the summer months the waters are calm and become ideal for swimming and snorkeling.

    Mahaulepu Beach

    Mahaulepu Beach is privately owned, but open to the public throughout the year. It boasts beautiful views and ideal areas for exploring. The water here is often too rough to swim in, but the beach is great for sunbathing on and fishing from. When the waters are calm, many people take the opportunity to go snorkeling or surfing. This beach is located 2 mi (3.2 km) from the end of Poipu Road.

    Lumahai Beach Park
    This beach is best known as the setting of the movie South Pacific starring Mitzi Gaynor. Today, sandy beaches and a crescent-shaped shoreline make this beach an ideal location for sunbathing and photographic opportunities, although swimming and surfing are not advised because of the strong currents here.
