West of Po'ipu Beach is the Spouting Horn geyser. Under the water, a lava tube traps water, spurting out after every wave crashes onto it. The geyser can shoot up to 50 ft (15 m) in the air. As it tries to get out a hissing sound can be heard, that Hawaiians believed to be a lizard goddess. The spout is found 1 mi (1.6 km) west of the beach on Lawai Road. Address: Lawai Road Po'ipu Beach HI USA 96756
